Application:
This intake valve is specified for the naturally-aspirated and turbo-charged Perkins 1004-40, 1004-42, 1004-4T, 1006-60 and 1006-60T diesel engines, which power Massey Ferguson 5460-7490 tractors, 7270-7280 combines, Landini 8860-9880 row-crop tractors, JCB 530-70 Loadall, 3CX/4CX back-hoe loaders, Atlas-Copco XAS186 & Doosan G50W compressors, FG-Wilson P110-5, P135-5 and P150-5 generator sets plus a wide spread of Bobcat, Case, Claas and New Holland machines that use the above 4- and 6-cylinder engine families worldwide .
Technical specifications:
Valve-head Ø 45 mm, stem Ø 9.5 mm, overall length 123 mm, seat angle 45°; stem tip is induction-hardened to 52-58 HRC while the lower stem carries a 0.03-0.05 mm gas-nitrided layer giving > 850 HV surface hardness to resist scuffing during prolonged high-boost operation typical of the 1006-60T engine.
Material & performance features:
Hot-forged from 21-4N (5Cr21Mn9Ni4N) austenitic steel that retains 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C, the head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to cut friction and valve-guide wear while the nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding and maintains stable lash over thousands of hours in stop-start field service.
