Application:
U10136460 is the standard exhaust-valve seat for Perkins 404D-15/404D-15T and 404D-22/404D-22T 3- & 4-cylinder diesels. These engines are fitted to 15-60 kVA generator sets (FG Wilson P13-5, P22-5, Atlas-Copco QAS 45), JCB 802-803 mini-excavators, Cat C1.1-C1.5 industrial packs, Massey-Ferguson 1700E tractors, Manitou forklifts and compact wheel loaders, so the insert covers agricultural, construction and power-generation fleets worldwide.
Technical specifications:
OD 35.5 mm, ID 29.7 mm, height 5.45 mm; 45° seat angle, 1.4 mm seating width. Interference fit 0.06-0.08 mm for cast-iron heads; concentricity ≤0.02 mm to prevent valve run-out; 0.3 mm corner radius eliminates stress concentration under 220 bar peak cylinder pressure.
Material & performance features:
Vacuum-sintered Co-Cr-Mo tool steel (≥45 HRC) with 2.8 % C, 30 % Cr, 1.2 % Mo, 0.8 % V, tempered at 580 °C to retain 38 HRC at 700 °C. A 0.05 % P addition promotes secondary graphite for self-lubrication; the lapped 45° face (Ra 0.8 µm) beds in within 15 min and resists low-sulphur diesel, biodiesel and 20 % HVO, giving >10 000 h service before re-cut.
