This exhaust valve is machined for the Perkins AD3.152 and 3.152.4 diesel engines, which power Massey Ferguson 135, 140, 148, 152, 158, 165, 175, 178, 230, 235, 240, 245, 250, 255, 265, 275, 285, 290, 298, 340, 350, 355, 360, 362, 375, 390, 390 T, 398 and 399 tractors, MF 550, 560, 565, 575, 590 combines, MF 30, 40, 50 back-hoe loaders, Landini 5530 F, 5530 L, 5530 V, 5530 FR row-crop tractors, Claas 55, 60 forage harvesters and a wide spread of industrial gensets, irrigation pumps and construction equipment that use the above 3-cylinder engine family world-wide.

Technical specifications:

The valve head is 33.5 mm in diameter, seat angle 35°, overall length 114.3 mm and stem diameter 7.9 mm; the stem tip is induction-hardened to 52-58 HRC while the lower stem carries a gas-nitrided layer 0.02-0.04 mm thick giving a surface hardness > 750 HV to resist scuffing during prolonged high-temperature exhaust pulses typical of the AD3.152 engine. Head and stem are CNC-finished to Ra 0.2 µm to guarantee positive sealing and uniform heat transfer every cycle.

Material & performance features:

Hot-forged from 21-4N (5Cr21Mn9Ni4N) austenitic steel that retains 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C, the head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to cut friction and valve-guide wear while the nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding and maintains stable lash over thousands of hours in stop-start field service; the tulip profile is swirl-polished to improve flow co-efficient and reduce pumping losses, giving cleaner combustion and lower fuel consumption across the 3.152 engine map.
