Application:
This inlet-valve seat is press-fitted into the cylinder head of 4-cylinder Perkins 1004-4, 1004-40, 1004-42, 1004-4T and 1006-6, 1006-60, 1006-60T diesels, which power Massey Ferguson 5460-7490 tractors, 7270-7280 combines, Landini 8860-9880 row-crop tractors, JCB 530-70 Loadall, 3CX/4CX back-hoe loaders, Atlas-Copco XAS186 & Doosan G50W compressors, FG-Wilson P110-5, P135-5 and P150-5 generator sets plus a wide spread of Bobcat, Case and New Holland machines that use the above engine families worldwide.
Technical specifications:
The seat is machined from sintered low-alloy steel to 1.895" (48.2 mm) OD, 1.290" (32.8 mm) ID, 0.285" (7.2 mm) wall thickness and 30° seat angle; the insert is sized for 0.05-0.08 mm interference fit in the cylinder head and maintains 0.04-0.06 mm clearance to the 8.9 mm valve stem.
Material & performance features:
The powder-metal matrix is alloyed with 1 % Cr and 0.5 % Mo to give 450 HV bulk hardness after steam-tempering, while a 0.02 mm phosphorous-rich infiltrated layer provides 650 HV running surface that resists pitting and valve recession after 8 000 h agricultural service. The outside diameter is centre-less ground to h6 tolerance so the seat can be installed without additional machining, while the chamfered top lip aids assembly and prevents bore distortion.
