The unit is a brass-bodied NTC (negative-temperature-coefficient) sensor with 3/8" BSPP male thread and 22 mm hex, 58 mm overall length and 115 g mass. Its resistance falls from 9.8 kΩ ±3 % at 25 °C to 180 Ω ±10 % at 100 °C, producing a steep, repeatable curve that the ECU can resolve to ±1 °C.
Material & performance features:
The sensing element is a glass-encapsulated NTC bead thermally bonded to the brass probe tip for rapid heat transfer and long-term stability. The body is nickel-plated for corrosion resistance and over-moulded in high-temperature PPS resin to achieve IP67 ingress protection. A fluoro-silicone O-ring and an integrated steel shield prevent moisture ingress during thermal cycling from –40 °C to +120 °C.
