Application:
3314A251 is the inlet-valve seat for Perkins 1104A-44, 1104C-44, 1104D-44, 1106C-70 and 1106D-70 engines as well as Caterpillar C7.1, C6.6 and 320D2 industrial packs. It is therefore used in 80-250 kVA generator sets (FG Wilson P88-5, P110-3, Atlas-Copco QAS 200), mid-range wheel loaders, excavators, combine harvesters and material-handling forklifts that share the same cylinder-head machining.
Technical specifications:
OD 44.45 mm (1.750 in), depth 8.0 mm, 30° seat angle, 2.0 mm seating width; interference fit 0.05-0.07 mm for cast-iron heads. The insert is finish-turned to 41.3 mm throat diameter and the 0.3 mm corner radius eliminates galling during press-fit while the 0.02 mm concentricity tolerance prevents valve run-out under 220 bar peak pressure.
Material & performance features:
Vacuum-sintered Co-Cr-Mo tool steel (≥48 HRC) containing 30 % Cr, 1.2 % Mo, 0.8 % V, tempered at 580 °C to retain 38 HRC at 700 °C. A controlled 0.05 % P addition promotes secondary graphite for self-lubrication, while the lapped 30° face (Ra 0.6 µm) beds in within 15 min and resists low-sulphur diesel, biodiesel and 20 % HVO, giving >12 000 h service before re-cut.
