Application:

This intake valve is engineered for the Perkins 1004-40T, 1006-60T, T6.601 and CCW6.601 naturally-aspirated and turbo-charged diesels, which means it is installed in Massey Ferguson 5460, 6460, 6470, 7480 and 7490 tractors, 7270 and 7280 combines, Landini 8860 and 9880 row-crop tractors, JCB 530-70 Loadall, 3CX/4CX back-hoe loaders, Atlas-Copco XAS186 and Doosan G50W portable compressors, FG-Wilson P110-4 and P135-4 generator sets and a broad spread of Bobcat T2556 Turbo, T3093 skid-steer loaders that use the above 4.0-litre engine family worldwide.

Technical specifications:

The valve head is 42.9 mm in diameter, seat angle 45°, overall length 122.9 mm and stem diameter 8.9 mm; the stem tip is induction-hardened to 52-58 HRC while the lower stem carries a gas-nitrided layer 0.03-0.05 mm thick giving a surface hardness > 850 HV to resist scuffing during prolonged high-boost operation typical of the 1006-60T engine. Head and stem are CNC-finished to Ra 0.2 µm to guarantee positive sealing and uniform heat transfer every cycle.

Material & performance features:

Hot-forged from 21-4N (5Cr21Mn9Ni4N) austenitic steel that retains 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C, the head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to cut friction and valve-guide wear while the nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding and maintains stable lash over thousands of hours in stop-start field service; the tulip profile is swirl-polished to improve flow co-efficient and reduce pumping losses, giving cleaner combustion and lower fuel consumption across the 1004/1006 engine map.
