The inlet seat 1827121C2 is specified for Navistar DT466E & DT530E HEUI engines (7.6 L & 8.7 L) and is also catalogued for Perkins 1306C-E87TAG and 1506A-E88TAG series. It is therefore found in Class-6/7 haulers, school buses, 150-300 kVA generator sets, wheel loaders, motor graders and farm tractors that use the same cylinder-head machining.

 

Technical specifications:

OD 2.0010 in (50.83 mm), depth 0.3560 in (9.04 mm), 30° seat angle, 1.712 in throat ID; interference fit 0.002-0.004 in for cast-iron heads. The 1.870 in top taper blends into the throat to give a 1.8 mm seating width that resists recession under 2.2 bar boost and 750 °C inlet temperature while maintaining airflow for EGR-equipped builds.

 

Material & performance features:

Vacuum-sintered Co-Cr-Mo steel (≥50 HRC) with 30 % Cr, 1.2 % Mo, 0.8 % V; plasma-nitrided to 0.05 mm depth for 950 HV surface hardness while the core remains tough enough to absorb valve impact. A 0.4 µm Ra finish beds in within 15 min, and the alloy resists low-sulphur diesel, biodiesel and 20 % HVO, giving >12 000 h service before re-cut.
