Application:

The T422529 exhaust valve is engineered for Perkins T4.236 and AT4.236 turbocharged diesel engines (4.0 L), extensively used in Massey Ferguson 165-398 series tractors, MF 30-50 backhoe loaders, MF 550-890 combines, Landini 7860-8880 row-crop tractors, Claas 65-75 forage harvesters, JCB 3CX/4CX backhoes, New Holland 1116 swathers, 1495/1496 mower-conditioners, FG-Wilson P100-4 and P135-4 generator sets, and various irrigation, construction, and marine auxiliary equipment. The exhaust valve ensures proper exhaust flow during overhauls in mid-range units.

Technical specifications:

The T422529 exhaust valve features a precision-machined design with a valve head diameter of 36.6 mm, seat angle of 45°, overall length of 123.3 mm, and stem diameter of 9.5 mm. The stem tip is induction-hardened to 52-58 HRC, while the lower stem carries a gas-nitrided layer 0.03-0.05 mm thick, providing a surface hardness of over 850 HV to resist scuffing during prolonged high-temperature exhaust pulses typical of turbocharged Perkins engines.

Material & performance features:

The T422529 exhaust valve is forged from 21-4N (5Cr21Mn9Ni4N) austenitic steel, which retains 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C. The head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to reduce friction and valve-guide wear. The nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding and maintains stable lash over thousands of hours in stop-start field service.
