Application:
Valve-cover gasket 3681A054 seals the joint between the pressed-steel or cast-aluminium rocker cover and the cylinder-head rail on 6-cylinder Perkins 1006-6, 1006-6T, 1006-60T, 1106C-E60TA and 1106D-E66TA diesels. Typical host machines are Massey Ferguson MF5465, MF5475, MF6465, MF6475, MF6480, MF7465, MF7475 and MF7480 tractors, JCB 536-95/540-170 telescopic handlers, Manitou MLT-X 741, Terex TLB 840 back-hoe loaders plus 150–400 kVA generator sets. Because the gasket contour, 750 mm overall length, 150 mm width and eight 6.5 mm bolt holes are dimensionally identical to earlier 1006.6 and AT4.236 covers, the same 3681A054 joint is used as a single service solution across forty years of 6-cylinder Perkins production.
Technical specifications:
The gasket is moulded from 1.5 mm MVQ silicone rubber sheet with an embedded stainless-steel or copper carrier for compression control; operating temperature –40 °C to +200 °C, compression set <15 % after 70 h at 175 °C, tensile strength ≥6 MPa, elongation ≥200 %.
Material & performance features:
High-purity MVQ silicone is oil-, fuel- and biodiesel-resistant, passing ASTM D471 168 h immersion with <3 % volume swell. The mould is flash-trimmed to ±0.1 mm tolerance, eliminating nip leaks and allowing immediate assembly without re-torque.
