Application:
This spring-loaded poppet valve is installed in the main oil gallery and piston-cooling circuit of Perkins 1004-4T, 1004-42, 1006-60T, 1006-60TW and CCW6.601 diesel engines; it is therefore fitted to Massey Ferguson 5460-7490 tractors, 7270-7280 combines, Landini 8860-9880 row-crop tractors, JCB 530-70 Loadall, 3CX/4CX back-hoe loaders, Atlas-Copco XAS186 & Doosan G50W portable compressors, FG-Wilson P110-4 & P135-4 generator sets and a wide spread of Bobcat, Case and New Holland machines that use the above 4- and 6-cylinder engine families worldwide.
Technical specifications:
The valve body is machined from free-cutting steel, 18 mm hex × 25 mm overall length, with 3/8"-24 UNF male thread and 0.8 mm orifice; the chrome-silicon spring is calibrated to open at 4.5 ± 0.3 bar, bypassing up to 12 L min⁻¹ of oil to the piston cooling jets and main gallery to prevent pressure spike during cold start.
Material & performance features:
The poppet is gas-nitrided to 750 HV to resist erosion from high-velocity oil, while the seat is lapped to 0.2 µm flatness to guarantee re-sealing within ±0.1 bar after each pressure cycle. A Viton O-ring is fitted to eliminate weep between valve body and cylinder block, and the external zinc-nickel plating gives 500 h salt-spray protection.
