Application:
This exhaust valve is engineered for the exhaust port of Perkins 2306, 2506 and 2806 series diesels – engines that share the same 4.0 L cylinder block architecture as the earlier T4.236 and AT4.236 turbocharged family and are now fitted to 75-400 kVA generator sets (FG Wilson P27-P55, Pramac GBW), high-horsepower agricultural tractors (Massey Ferguson 8200-series, Landini Legend 145), combine harvesters (MF IDEAL 40), mobile compressors and marine auxiliaries. The valve drops straight into the hardened seat insert CH10732 and is held by the same split-collet, spring and rotator hardware used on the 1104 and 1106 derivatives, so it is a common service item across engines that power everything from irrigation pumps to drilling rigs.
Technical specifications:
Head diameter 39.0 mm, stem diameter 8.0 mm, overall length 147 mm, seat angle 45°, tip length 3.5 mm, stem finish 0.2 µm Ra ground. The valve is manufactured from 21-4N (X53CrMnNiN21-9) austenitic steel that retains tensile strength above 750 MPa at 850 °C; the head is flash-stellite-faced with a 1.2 mm thick Stellite 6 overlay giving a 38 HRC hardness layer for hot-gas corrosion resistance.
Material & performance features:
21-4N alloy offers 25 % chromium and 9 % manganese for oxidation resistance in continuous high-temperature exhaust gas; the Stellite facing prevents guttering and allows the valve to survive 20 000 h in 400 kVA gensets running on low-cetane fuel. Chrome-plated stem reduces guide wear to < 3 µm per 1 000 h, while the induction-hardened tip resists hammer wear from rotator caps.
