Application:
Perkins 1004-42, N4.421, and 1004.42 series four-cylinder diesel engines (4.2 L displacement) . This exhaust valve controls exhaust gas flow from the combustion chamber in moderate-duty diesel applications. Commonly found in Massey Ferguson 3000 and 4000 series tractors (3315, 3325, 3330, 3340, 3350, 4225, 4235, 4240, 4325, 4335), JCB telescopic handlers and wheeled loaders (520 LE, 407BZX, 407ZX, 410BZX, 410ZX), Manitou MC40/MC50/MC60 telescopic handlers , and Cater 3054B series engines (various models). Each four-cylinder engine requires 4 exhaust valves.

Material & performance features:
Manufactured from high-alloy heat-resistant steel containing 0.35-0.45% carbon, 1.5-2.5% chromium, with additions of manganese and silicon for enhanced high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance . The valve head undergoes solution treatment at 1,050-1,100°C followed by age-hardening to achieve 28-32 HRC hardness, maintaining structural integrity at exhaust gas temperatures exceeding 700°C.The stem receives gas nitriding treatment creating a 0.02-0.04 mm deep surface layer exceeding 750 HV hardness to resist scuffing during prolonged operation. The 45° seat angle is precision-machined to Ra 0.4-0.8 µm finish, ensuring positive sealing with the valve seat insert (3314A009, 3314A051, or 3314A102) and preventing blow-by and compression loss. The tip is induction-hardened to 52-56 HRC to resist cupping under 900-1,100 N valve spring loads.
