The valve seat is manufactured from high-quality alloy cast iron, ensuring excellent wear resistance and high-temperature performance. It undergoes advanced gas nitriding treatment to enhance surface hardness and durability. The induction-hardened stem tip (52-58 HRC) and gas-nitrided layer (0.03-0.05 mm thick) provide superior scuff resistance, crucial for the high-temperature exhaust pulses typical of turbocharged Perkins engines. The nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding, ensuring stable lash over thousands of hours of stop-start field service.
