The valve seat is manufactured from high-quality alloy cast iron, ensuring excellent wear resistance and high-temperature performance. It undergoes advanced gas nitriding treatment to enhance surface hardness and durability. The induction-hardened stem tip (52-58 HRC) and gas-nitrided layer (0.03-0.05 mm thick) provide superior scuff resistance, crucial for the high-temperature exhaust pulses typical of turbocharged Perkins engines. The head and stem are CNC-finished to Ra 0.2 µm, guaranteeing positive sealing and uniform heat transfer every cycle.

The T407000 Intake Valve Seat is forged from 21-4N (5Cr21Mn9Ni4N) austenitic steel, which retains 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C. The head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to reduce friction and valve-guide wear. The nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding, ensuring stable lash over thousands of hours of stop-start field service. The tulip profile is swirl-polished to improve flow efficiency and reduce pumping losses, contributing to cleaner combustion and lower fuel consumption across the 4.236/6.354 engine map.
